• Replacement of existing fire damaged Manhattan terminal for the Staten Island Ferry, located adjacent to Battery Park.
• New Building whose construction features a large steel framed, vaulted waiting room, glass curtain wall facade, new subway entrance and enhanced design of Peter Minuet Plaza.
• Project includes reuse of significant marine engineering features such as bulk-head wall, relieving platform, gallows and machinery for ferry boarding ramps, piles and grade beams.
• Project also must interface with significant transportation features which pass below or immediately adjacent to the new building, including the roadway tunnel linking the FDR Drive with the West Side Highway, as well as three subway lines, the 1 & 9, the 4 & 5, and the N & R trains.
